Police Impersonator Applies for Corrections Officer Position and is Promptly Arrested in Alabama

On June 2, 2023, Logan William Martin came to the Limestone County Sheriff's Office after applying for a Corrections Officer position. Captain Tammy Waddell received a tip that Martin had stolen blue lights from the Madison County Career Tech Law Enforcement vehicle, put them in his car, and was stopping cars and impersonating a peace officer. Captain Tammy Waddell and Captain Caleb Durden interviewed Martin, and he confessed to impersonating a peace officer in Limestone County, Madison County, Jackson County, and Lincoln County, TN. A search warrant was obtained for Martin's vehicle, and Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Madison County Sheriff's Office, and Huntsville Police Department property were discovered inside. Dash Cameras were also located in the vehicle, as well as other law enforcement-related items, such as blue emergency lights and a police radio.

Logan William Martin, 18, of Harvest, AL, has been charged with Impersonating a Peace Officer. Martin has been released from the Limestone County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond.
