According to the affidavit for arrest Evans committed the sexual abuse from June 1, 2020 until August 22, 2022.  In August of 2022, the 7-year-old female victim told her mother that Evans, her grandfather, had been forcing her to touch his private parts multiple times.  At the time, Evans resided in the 900 block of W. The jury trial in this case was scheduled to begin April 22, 2024 in 265th Judicial District Court of Dallas County.   On April 18, 2024, the bond insufficient warrant was issued after the Judge rulled that no bond be allowed.  A bond is considered insufficient when a court decides that the previous bail amount is no longer enough.
