On Wednesday, April 23rd, at approximately 10:37 PM, an Irving Police officer initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling northbound on Loop 12 at E. Union Bower Road. After initially stopping, the driver sped off, attempting to evade the officer.
Additional police units joined the pursuit and were able to slow down and stop the vehicle. The driver was taken into custody and identified as 33-year-old Jabori Manning of Dallas. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of controlled substances and marijuana.
Following their investigation, Jabori Manning was booked into the Irving Jail. He faces charges of Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle, Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance in Penalty Group 3, and Possession of Marijuana. Authorities also discovered an outstanding warrant from the Dallas Police Department for Assault Threats Against Family Members.
Penalty Group 3 controlled substances include opioids and opiates not listed in Penalty Group 1, benzodiazepines, sedatives like Valium, anabolic steroids, methylphenidate (Ritalin), and other prescription drugs with stimulant or depressant effects and potential for abuse.
