On Sunday, January 18, 2025, Irving Police officers responded to a fight at The Spirit Grille sports bar in the 4000 block of N. MacArthur Blvd near W. Northgate Dr. in North Irving.
Upon arrival, officers encountered 23-year-old Victor Godithe Aguilar of Irving, who was intoxicated. While being taken into custody, Aguilar resisted arrest and attempted to take a weapon from a 40-year-old male police officer. Aguilar was also found to be in possession of narcotics. A total of three officers responded to the incident.
Aguilar was charged with Attempt to Take a Weapon From a Police Officer, Possession of a Controlled Substance PG1/1-B, Public Intoxication, and Resisting Arrest. His bond was set at $8,000, and he was transferred to the Dallas County Jail on January 19. Aguilar has since bonded out of jail.
