High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Arrest of South Irving Teen

Eleazar Ramires

Irving Police officers engaged in a pursuit on Monday, April 9, 2024, after observing a white Dodge Charger commit a traffic violation. The situation escalated when the driver evaded a stop attempt, initiating a chase involving six officers through the streets of North Irving, particularly around the Story Rd and Rochelle Rd area.

Despite colliding with another vehicle during the pursuit, the driver persisted until the Charger became inoperable near the intersection of Cartwright St and Dupree St. Attempting to flee on foot, the driver, later identified as 18-year-old Eleazar Ramires of South Irving, was quickly apprehended by police at 7:49 pm.

Ramires put up resistance, but the officers successfully subdued him and took him into custody. He faces multiple charges, including Evading Arrest Detention with a Vehicle, Evading Arrest Detention, Resisting Arrest, and Collision Involving a Vehicle. On April 11th, he was transferred to the Dallas County Jail in downtown Dallas.

This isn't Ramires' first brush with the law. Just months earlier, on January 31, 2024, he was arrested by Denton Police Officers for DWI, Criminal Mischief, Evading Arrest, Resisting Arrest, and Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant. That case remains pending.
