The City of Grand Prairie's new 7,200-seat cricket stadium hosted the launch of Major League Cricket (MLC) on July 13, 2023. The home town Super Kings won the match, opening a three week MLC tournament that ends with a championship final July 30 at Grand Prairie stadium.
The Grand Prairie Stadium was transformed from a baseball field to the perfect place to hold Major League Cricket matches.
The Texas Super Kings represent North Texas in the six-team league that features clubs from San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, New York and Washington.
"It’s a historic day for cricket in America and cricket in Texas," said Tom Dunmore, with Major League Cricket. "These are the world’s best players coming here to the Dallas area to play professional cricket."
