Major League Cricket (MLC) is gearing up for an explosive return as it announces the opening of its second season on the Fourth of July next summer. The premier T20 tournament in the United States is set to captivate cricket enthusiasts with a display of sporting pageantry that coincides with America's birthday celebrations.

Tournament Director Justin Geale expressed optimism about building on the success of the inaugural season, stating, “The tremendous success of the inaugural Major League Cricket season provides a perfect platform to propel American cricket to even greater heights in 2024.” Geale anticipates an even more exciting season with the potential inclusion of additional world-class players.

The premier T20 tournament is scheduled to conclude by early August, and fans can expect the announcement of exact dates and the schedule of play in early 2024. The tournament will play a crucial role in enhancing the popularity of cricket in the United States, aligning with the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup to create a cricket-filled summer.

All six teams that participated in MLC's historic inaugural season in 2023 will make a return in 2024. The matches are poised to unfold not only at the familiar Grand Prairie Stadium in Grand Prairie, TX, but also at additional venues yet to be disclosed.

MLC's debut season in 2023 marked a watershed moment for American cricket, introducing world-class domestic T20 action to the country. The majority of matches were played in front of sold-out crowds in Texas and North Carolina, showcasing the growing enthusiasm for the sport. The season featured 19 intense matches, culminating in MI New York claiming the inaugural championship by defeating the Seattle Orcas in the final. As the countdown to the second season begins, cricket enthusiasts can look forward to another summer of thrilling cricket action.
