Renovations at the Toyota Music Factory, located at 316 W. Las Colinas Blvd. in Irving, are now largely complete, marking a significant milestone for the 500,000-square-foot entertainment venue. The project, which began in early 2024, included upgrades to the central plaza, stage, storefronts, and improved signage. A ribbon-cutting ceremony on December 10 celebrated the completion of these improvements.
Plaza Upgrades
Visitors can now enjoy an enhanced outdoor experience year-round, thanks to added seating and five shade structures surrounding the plaza’s circular turf center. Trees, greenery, and overhead string lights complement the updates, creating a more inviting atmosphere. The main stage has been relocated to the east side of the plaza, opening the south end for additional seating and shade.
A hospitality container has been added next to the stage, offering food, drinks, and merchandise on the ground level, with a second-floor seating area overlooking the plaza. A new kid’s zone adds family-friendly features to the space.
Visual and Navigational Enhancements
Music-inspired murals and Texas-themed artwork now adorn the facility, including a rotating gallery of local art in “Artist’s Alley” between restaurants Thirsty Lion and Bar Louie. Unique visuals, such as LED instruments suspended in the alley near Gloria’s Latin Cuisine, further enhance the venue’s aesthetic.
Improved signage has made navigation easier for both pedestrians and vehicles, with expanded directional signs and bold red accents highlighting the parking garage entrance. Graphics inside the parking garage help identify levels more clearly.
Funding and Economic Impact
Toyota Music Factory is owned by the City of Irving and managed by Music Factory Portfolio LP, an affiliate of Brookfield Properties. The Irving City Council approved an agreement in January 2024 allowing Brookfield Properties to fund the renovations upfront, with the city reimbursing eligible expenses over time through sales and mixed beverage tax revenue generated at the venue.
