The Temple Police Department is currently investigating a tragic accident that resulted in the death of a 72-year-old woman. The victim has been identified as Victoria Beluso Aranas from Vicksburg, Mississippi.
The incident occurred around 8 a.m. when officers responded to a call on northbound Interstate 35 near exit 306. Initial investigations suggest that Aranas's vehicle had stopped in the middle lane due to mechanical issues. Tragically, her vehicle was struck from behind by an 18-wheeler.
As part of the investigation, authorities diverted traffic off the interstate for several hours.
