On Thursday, March 7, 2023, officers responded to reports of a disturbance on I-14 along the Central Texas Expressway following multiple calls from passing motorists. Upon arrival, officers encountered a male suspect who attempted to evade them on a bicycle. The suspect's reckless maneuvers across both eastbound and westbound lanes of I-14 led to a two-vehicle collision.
The suspect eventually abandoned the bicycle and attempted to flee on foot, but his escape was halted by the swift action of a Good Samaritan who witnessed the pursuit. The bystander intervened and successfully tackled the suspect, allowing officers to take him into custody without further incident.
