At 3:22 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2024, Abilene Police responded to a distress call from a residence in the 4300 block of Mary Lou Lane in south Abilene, regarding a shooting incident.
Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found a female victim inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Denise Gray, 66 years old, was pronounced dead at the scene. Another female, identified as Donna Guerra, 55 years old and the sister of the deceased, was also found with a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital for medical attention.
The suspect, Floyd Lane Hardison, 67 years old, who is identified as the ex-husband of Denise Gray, was apprehended at the scene and taken into custody by the authorities.
All three individuals involved in the incident resided in the same household. No other individuals were present in the home at the time of the shooting.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.
