Early Morning Crash on I-35E Claims Driver's Life in North Dallas

Dallas, Texas - A lone motorist died following a single-vehicle wreck on northbound I-35E in north Dallas early Saturday morning, authorities said. Dallas police and fire crews were called to the scene in the 11900 block of North Stemmons Freeway, near the interchange with Interstate 635, at roughly 3:20 a.m. on October 31.

Investigators believe the vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed into a wall in an area close to the Dallas–Farmers Branch line, not far from the LBJ Freeway interchange. No other vehicles are believed to have been involved, according to preliminary findings.

Paramedics rushed the driver to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.  The victim was identified as 28-year-old Jose Orlando Luna-Jimenez.

Dallas police continue to investigate the exact cause of the crash, and no further details have been released.
