Denton, Texas - A chain-reaction crash involving five vehicles sent six people to the hospital with serious injuries Saturday night in Denton. Denton police and fire crews were called out around 7:29 p.m. to the 8400 block of West University Drive at Willow Lane, close to the Parker House Haunted Attractions.
By 9:30 p.m., Denton Police Department officials confirmed that six crash victims had been taken to area hospitals for treatment of serious injuries. The extent of the injuries and the cause of the pileup have not yet been released.
The wreck forced authorities to shut down all three westbound lanes of Highway 380 in the vicinity of West University Drive and Willow Lane while crews worked to clear the vehicles and investigate the scene. Drivers were urged to steer clear of the area as the multi-lane shutdown caused significant delays during the Halloween weekend rush near the popular haunted attraction.
