Dallas, Texas - Dallas police are piecing together what happened after three separate gunfire incidents erupted within the Deep Ellum entertainment district overnight from October 31st to November 1st, leaving four people dead and at least 15 others wounded. Officers were first called out around 12:20 a.m. to the 2600 block of Elm Street, a stretch lined with bars and music venues near the heart of Deep Ellum.
Roughly 45 minutes later, a second burst of gunfire was reported near Main and Pryor streets, followed by a third shooting around 1:35 a.m. in the 200 block of South Crowdus Street, just blocks away. All three locations sit within the compact Deep Ellum nightlife corridor east of downtown Dallas, an area known for drawing large weekend crowds.
In a formal statement, the Dallas Police Department said 19 people total were affected across the three scenes, with four confirmed dead and 15 injured. Some of the wounded got themselves to nearby hospitals rather than waiting for ambulances, so investigators cautioned that the casualty figures could still shift as the investigation continues. No officers were hurt during the response.
The victims were later identified as 21-year-old Kaniesa Scott, 28-year-old Unique Elise Benjamin, 25-year-old Anthony Martin and 20-year-old Isaiah Boling. Boling died on Monday, November 2nd at 11:55 pm at Baylor University Medical Center.
No arrests have been announced, and police say the people responsible for the shootings have not yet been identified. Detectives are continuing to investigate and are expected to release additional information as the inquiry progresses.
