Grapevine, Texas - A 20-year-old man riding a motorcycle died Monday morning, November 2nd, after a crash on the connector ramp linking westbound Interstate 635 to northbound State Highway 121 in Grapevine, according to authorities. The collision happened around 9:30 a.m. near the 3000 block of the freeway, an area close to DFW International Airport.
According to investigators, the motorcyclist struck the back of another vehicle before colliding with a concrete barrier separating the lanes. The impact threw him from the bike, and he landed on an embankment below the roadway.
Emergency crews responded quickly, but the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials said excessive speed is believed to have contributed to the fatal wreck. The young man was identified as Alexander Moreno.
The connector ramp was shut down for roughly two and a half hours while crews investigated and cleared the scene, causing delays for drivers in the area near the airport and surrounding Grapevine roadways.
