IRVING, Texas - A 53-year-old man was arrested after Irving police said he attempted to cash a counterfeit check at a check-cashing business and was found with identification information belonging to other people.
Irving police officers responded at approximately 1:27 p.m. Sept. 22 to a forgery-in-progress call at PLS Check Cashers near West Irving Boulevard and West Pioneer Drive.
Police identified the suspect as Everrick Lamond Printers of Fort Worth.
According to police, Printers attempted to cash a $1,429 check that was not issued in his name. Officers investigating the incident determined the check was counterfeit and reported finding Printers with several pieces of identifying information that also were not in his name.
Police said Printers admitted the check was fake and told officers he had used a printer to create fraudulent documents.
Printers was arrested and booked into the Irving Jail. He was charged with forgery to obtain property valued between $750 and $2,500, a state jail felony.
A records check using Printers' identity also revealed six outstanding warrants, according to police.
Four were misdemeanor warrants issued by the Dallas Police Department. The Dallas County Sheriff's Office had also entered two parole violation warrants connected to previous convictions for unlawful possession of a firearm and manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance.
Police did not provide additional information about the identifying information found with Printers or indicate whether investigators believe the documents were connected to other attempted transactions.
The new forgery charge is an accusation and has not been proven in court.
