Two men were injured Sunday evening after a fight in a restaurant parking lot in Lewisville escalated into gunfire, according to Lewisville police. Officers were called to the 1200 block of South State Highway 121 Business, an area lined with shopping centers and dining spots near Vista Ridge Mall, just before 7 p.m. on September 6, 2026, after reports of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they found the two adult male victims had sought shelter inside a neighboring business after being shot in the lot behind the restaurant. Both were taken to area hospitals and are expected to recover.
Detectives reviewed surveillance footage that showed the confrontation began between two separate groups of people. During the dispute, police say one man pulled out a handgun and fired, striking both victims before fleeing with others involved. Investigators used the Flock automated license plate reading system to track down the getaway vehicle, then combined that data with video footage, on-scene interviews and hospital statements to identify a suspect.
The man believed to be responsible for the shooting turned himself in to Lewisville police later that night and was arrested without further incident.
