FORT WORTH, Texas - A woman died and a man was left in critical condition after a motorcycle crash late Thursday night on Fort Worth's west side. Fort Worth police and fire crews, along with Lake Worth Fire Department units, responded around 11:57 p.m. on August 13 to West Loop 820 North near North Las Vegas Trail, close to the Lake Worth area. When emergency crews arrived, they found a motorcycle that had wrecked in the roadway. Investigators believe the woman was riding as a passenger and was thrown from the bike before being hit by another vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The motorcycle's driver was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Fort Worth Police Department's Traffic Investigations unit has taken over the case and is working to piece together how the crash unfolded.
