IRVING, Texas - An Irving man who previously pleaded guilty to stealing at least $300,000 from his employer is back behind bars after authorities accused him of violating the terms of his 10-year community supervision by committing a DWI offense and failing to pay more than $108,000 in restitution.
Homero Ramirez-Garza, 49, of Irving, was captured by Lewisville Police officers on Saturday, Aug. 15. He is being held at the Denton County Jail while awaiting transfer to Dallas County on a warrant stemming from the revocation of his community supervision.
The case dates back more than a decade and involves Ramirez-Garza's former employer, Maxitransfers LLC, a money services business located in Las Colinas. The company operates MaxiSend, a money-transfer service primarily serving customers sending funds to Latin American countries.
According to court records and the investigation by the Irving Police Department, Ramirez-Garza carried out a scheme between June 2015 and August 2018 to steal money from the company.
Company audits determined that the aggregate amount stolen was at least $300,000.
10-Year Prison Sentence Was Suspended
The criminal case was resolved in Dallas County on Feb. 1, 2021.
Under an agreed plea deal, Ramirez-Garza pleaded guilty to Theft of Property valued at $300,000 or more. He received a 10-year prison sentence, but the entire prison term was suspended while he was placed on community supervision for 10 years.
As part of the disposition, Ramirez-Garza was also ordered to pay $250,000 in restitution.
That arrangement allowed him to remain out of prison as long as he complied with the conditions imposed by the court.
Those conditions later became the subject of a motion to revoke his community supervision.
Court Records Cite DWI and Unpaid Restitution
On July 15, 2025, the court approved a motion seeking to revoke Ramirez-Garza's community supervision or proceed with an adjudication of guilt.
According to the motion, prosecutors alleged that Ramirez-Garza violated Texas law on July 4, 2025, in Dallas County by committing the offense of driving while intoxicated (DWI).
The motion also said that he had failed to satisfy the $250,000 restitution requirement.
Court records listed his restitution as $108,769.16 delinquent at the time of the filing.
Based on the alleged violations, a warrant was issued for Ramirez-Garza's arrest.
Captured in Lewisville
More than a year after the motion to revoke was approved, Lewisville Police officers located and arrested Ramirez-Garza on Aug. 15, 2026.
He was subsequently booked into the Denton County Jail.
Ramirez-Garza is now awaiting extradition to Dallas County, where the underlying theft case and community supervision proceedings originated.
The probation violation allegations could expose Ramirez-Garza to additional consequences in the original felony theft case. The court will ultimately determine what action to take regarding his community supervision and previously suspended sentence.
