IRVING, TX — The Irving Public Library will be moving to a new system from October 8 through approximately October 14, 2025, during which many services will be unavailable. The upgrade will bring new features this year, including an updated catalog and mobile app.
Unavailable services during this period include:
-
Placing hold requests
-
Returning or renewing checked-out items
-
Renewing expired library cards
-
Paying fines or fees
-
Accessing online account information
-
Checking out items without a library card
-
PIN resets
-
Replacing lost library cards
-
Registering new library cards
-
Interlibrary loan services
Services expected to remain available (with some limitations) include:
-
Borrowing library materials (limit of five items per visit)
-
Most digital services, including online databases, Hoopla, and Libby
-
Limited access to the library catalog (current status of items may be unavailable)
-
Public computer access
-
Printing, faxing, and scanning
-
Library events and programs, including MiY Zones
No items will be due during the migration, and library accounts will not expire. Patrons are advised that PINs will be required for computer and online access, but resets will not be possible until the system upgrade is complete. Items in possession should be held onto, as returns cannot be processed during this time.
The library asks for patience as staff and patrons adjust to the new system and anticipates the improvements will enhance the user experience across all services.
