Irving Police Arrest Man on Sexual Assault, Unlawful Restraint Charges

IRVING, TX – An Irving man is facing multiple felony charges following his arrest early Sunday morning after his girlfriend reported being assaulted and sexually assaulted.

According to the Irving Police Department, officers were dispatched to a residence in the early hours of Sunday, August 3rd, after a woman called 911. The victim, who was visibly distressed, told police that her 24-year-old boyfriend, Angel Torres, had choked and sexually assaulted her. She also stated that Torres had prevented her from calling for help before she was able to break away and make the emergency call.

Torres was taken into custody and booked into the Irving Jail at 4:56 a.m. He has been charged with:

  • Sexual Assault (2nd-degree felony)

  • Domestic Violence Assault Impeding Breath/Circulation (3rd-degree felony)

  • Unlawful Restraint

Police officials indicated that additional charges may be filed as the investigation into the alleged attack is ongoing.
