On Tuesday night, July 15, 2025, Irving Police officers and Dallas County Sheriff’s deputies executed an arrest warrant in Irving and took 35-year-old Nesly Ivetter Calix-Chavez into custody.
Calix-Chavez was originally arrested in February 2021 after Irving Police officers responded to a 911 call at the Brittney Place apartments in the 800 block of S. Irving Heights Drive. She was charged with Assault Against an Elderly Individual for striking a man over the age of 65 with a blunt object. In June 2021, she was re-arrested on a warrant for Assault Causes Bodily Injury.
In November 2021, Calix-Chavez accepted a plea deal from the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office, reducing the charge to Injury to an Elderly Person, a third-degree felony. She was sentenced to three years of community supervision.
However, just 2 months later, in January 2022, her probation was revoked for failing to report to her supervision officer. At that time, she had moved to an apartment complex in the 1700 block of N. Britain Road. Having moved out of that apartment, authorities were unable to locate her until she was arrested 12 months later in March 2023.
Due to concerns regarding her mental health, the court ordered an evaluation in May 2023, and she was found mentally incompetent in August 2023. Calix-Chavez was placed in a treatment facility. Her competency was restored in February 2024 following an evaluation by her Psychiatrist, Dr. Michael Pittman, and the court proceedings resumed.
On June 5, 2024, in another plea deal, the DA's Office withdrew its motion to revoke probation and extended her probation by 12 months, adding new conditions requiring her to participate in a mental health agency and an anger management program.
In December 2024, Calix-Chavez again violated probation, failing to report for three consecutive months, and not complying with the court-ordered mental health and anger management programs. A warrant was issued on December 17, 2024, and was executed late night on July 15, 2025.
Calix-Chavez was booked into the Irving Jail at 1:51 am on Wednesday and awaits further proceedings.
