Three Arrested on Drug and Other Charges at Irving Hotel Near DFW Airport

IRVING, Texas — Three men were arrested following a welfare check at a hotel near Dallas Fort Worth International Airport that led officers to suspected narcotics activity.

According to the Irving Police Department, officers responded at approximately 8:10 p.m. on June 19 to the Super 8 Hotel on Highway 114, on the north side of DFW Airport, to conduct a welfare check.

During the investigation and a consensual encounter inside a hotel room, officers arrested three individuals.

Mario Joseph Garcia, 35, of Irving, was charged with Manufacture or Delivery of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 and Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1/1-B under one gram. Police also discovered Garcia had an outstanding Grand Prairie Police Department warrant for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Joe Calvin Taulton, 42, of Mesquite, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1/1-B under one gram.

Carlos Fitzgerald, 25, was arrested and charged with Failure to Identify by Giving False Information.

All three men were booked into the Irving Jail.
