Killeen Police are actively investigating the death of a 47-year-old man who was shot on Thursday evening.
On April 17, 2025, at approximately 7:28 p.m., officers were called to the 600 block of Gray Street in response to a report of a shooting victim. Upon arrival, they found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Killeen Fire Department EMS provided immediate life-saving measures and transported the victim in critical condition to Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center. Despite medical intervention, the victim later died from his injuries and was pronounced deceased by hospital staff.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin.
Police have detained one individual in connection with the shooting and have stated that it was an isolated incident, posing no ongoing threat to the public.
The Killeen Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, Robbery-Homicide Unit, is currently conducting an active investigation into the circumstances of the shooting.
