A suspicious item reported in the 2400 block of S. Valley Pkwy. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, prompted a temporary road closure and precautionary measures, but was ultimately determined to be a common kitchen appliance.
At approximately 10:12 AM, Lewisville Police and Fire personnel responded to the call. As a safety precaution, the area was cordoned off, and northbound S. Valley Pkwy. was closed from Ace Ln. to W. Round Grove Rd.
By noon, the Lewisville Police Department (LPD) released an update stating that the suspicious item, found inside a box at an unusual location, had been thoroughly evaluated.
"Upon investigation, the item was identified as a common kitchen item, thankfully, not a threat," the LPD stated.
The LPD thanked the community for their vigilance and cooperation and reiterated the importance of reporting any suspicious activity, emphasizing that "it’s always better to be safe."
