Fort Worth Man Arrested, Charged with Five Robberies Across the City

Roderick Dennis

Fort Worth police have arrested 45-year-old Roderick Dennis, charging him with five counts of robbery in connection with a string of incidents that occurred over the past two months.

Investigators allege Dennis targeted businesses across the city, using distractions before holding clerks at gunpoint. The most recent robbery occurred on December 16 at a food mart off Mansfield Highway, where Dennis allegedly escaped with $2,000 in cash and lottery scratch-off tickets after threatening the clerk with a firearm.

Within hours of the December 16 robbery, police received multiple credible tips identifying Dennis as the suspect. He was apprehended without incident and booked into the Tarrant County Jail, where his bond was set at more than $300,000.

Court records reveal Dennis has an extensive criminal history in Tarrant County, including previous charges for burglary, robbery, and multiple drug offenses. He also violated bond conditions from two robbery warrants in April and failed to provide a required urine sample in November, leading to the issuance of a warrant for his arrest.

Fort Worth police credited the community for providing key information that led to Dennis’s arrest. The investigation into the series of robberies remains ongoing.
