Yhazmin Hernandez

IRVING, Texas. An Allen woman was arrested after Irving police responding to a report of an unconscious driver discovered multiple suspected narcotics, cash and a forged driver's license, according to the Irving Police Department.

Officers responded on the morning of June 28 to the 900 block of Lake Carolyn Parkway in Las Colinas after receiving a report of an unconscious driver blocking traffic. When officers arrived, they found 27-year-old Yhazmin Hernandez of Allen in the driver's seat of a white Mini Cooper.

Police said Hernandez displayed extreme nervousness, erratic behavior and refused to comply with officers' commands. Officers also detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

A probable cause search of the Mini Cooper led to the discovery of three baggies containing suspected cocaine weighing a total of 5.2 grams, 3.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 15 suspected MDMA pills and 4.8 grams of marijuana. Police said the substances field-tested positive for the suspected drugs.

Investigators also recovered a large amount of cash and a forged Texas driver's license bearing another person's identifying information but displaying Hernandez's photograph.

Hernandez was taken into custody on two outstanding warrants and the narcotics charges before being transported to the Irving Jail. During the booking process, officers discovered additional suspected methamphetamine concealed in her pocket and a baggie containing suspected cocaine hidden in her body after she had been warned about bringing contraband into the jail, police said.

The outstanding warrants included a felony drug warrant issued by the Southlake Police Department and a misdemeanor warrant issued by the Dallas Police Department.

Irving police charged Hernandez with possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 1/1-B between one and four grams, a third-degree felony; possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 1/1-B between four and 200 grams, a second-degree felony; possession of marijuana under two ounces, a Class B misdemeanor; and tampering with a government document, a Class A misdemeanor.

According to police, Hernandez was previously arrested by the Rockwall County Sheriff's Office on June 2 and charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in Penalty Groups 1 and 2, along with abandoning or endangering a child through criminal negligence. She posted a $90,000 bond and was released while that case remains pending.

Police also noted Hernandez was arrested by the Texas Department of Public Safety in November 2025 on charges of possession of a controlled substance Penalty Group 1/1-B, possession of marijuana between two and four ounces, and unlawfully carrying a weapon. She posted a $22,500 bond in that case, which also remains pending.

Court records further show Hernandez has a previous drug conviction in Collin County.
