On Saturday evening, December 14th, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Denton Fire/EMS and Police responded to a serious accident on Farm to Market Road 2449, near C. Wolfe Road, located between Denton city limits and Ponder. Emergency crews arrived at the scene to find a two-vehicle head-on collision with two individuals trapped inside one of the vehicles.
Firefighters worked to extricate both victims, an adult and a teenager, who were then transported to a Denton hospital. The adult victim sustained significant injuries from the crash.
FM 2449 was closed in both directions for four hours while emergency crews worked at the scene.
Denton Police have arrested the driver deemed at fault for the crash on charges of Intoxication Assault. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
