In the early hours of January 1, 2023, an Irving Police Officer initiated a traffic stop after observing a vehicle exceeding the speed limit and failing to signal a turn. The officer identified the driver as 37-year-old Cassie Lynn Welch of Irving.
Upon conducting a routine check, it was revealed that Welch had two active warrants issued by the Dallas County Sheriff's Office for parole violation related to possession of controlled substances. Following the discovery, Welch was taken into custody without incident.
The arrest occurred at approximately 11:37 pm, and Welch was subsequently booked into the Irving Jail. The Irving Police Department is cooperating with the Dallas County Sheriff's Office in the ongoing legal proceedings.
