In the early hours of this morning at 3:31 a.m., an observant Wichita Falls Police Night Shift Patrol officer thwarted an attempted burglary at the Hwy 79 Car Wash on 1607 Archer City Hwy. The officer, while on routine patrol, noticed a suspicious light at the rear of the car wash premises.
Responding to the unusual activity, the officer entered the property to investigate and spotted a male suspect leaping over the fence at the back of the property. The individual was later identified as 31-year-old Justin Burns.
Law enforcement officers successfully detained Burns, preventing him from carrying out his alleged criminal activities. Subsequent investigations revealed that Burns had been attempting to drill into a coin-operated vacuum machine situated at the rear of the car wash property. The diligent officer intervened before Burns could gain access and steal the money contained within the machine.
As a result of the incident, Justin Burns was taken into custody and arrested for Attempted Burglary of a Coin Operated Machine. Additionally, Burns faces charges related to two outstanding traffic warrants.
