Two Wanted in 2014 Killeen Murder Case Arrested

In a significant development in the long-pending case of Sung Jin Farris's death, two individuals are now in custody for their alleged involvement in the crime. Farris was discovered with a gunshot wound on Wednesday, April 20, 2014, and succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives from the Killeen Criminal Investigation Division Robbery-Homicide presented the case to the Bell County District Attorney’s Office. As a result, two complaints were filed, charging Johnathan Shaw Allen Holmes, 36, and Zykeshalla Tyree Murphy, 32, with Murder. Warrants for their arrest were issued by Justice of the Peace Gregory Johnson.

On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at around 7:30 a.m., Zykeshalla Tyree Murphy was apprehended in Ashland, OH, by the U.S. Marshals Service Northern Ohio Fugitive Task Force. Simultaneously, Johnathan Shaw Allen Holmes was located and arrested in Belton, TX, by the U.S. Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive Task Force at approximately 8:30 a.m.
