The Temple Police Department has apprehended a suspect in connection to an aggravated robbery that occurred in the early hours of December 14. Responding to a call at approximately 3:20 a.m., officers were dispatched to the 5400 block of S. General Bruce Drive for an armed robbery incident.
The suspect, identified as a black male wearing a red hoodie, blue jeans, and a mask, arrived at the scene in a newer model white GMC Denali. Upon entering the store, the assailant brandished a firearm, threatening the clerk and demanding cash. The suspect successfully fled the premises with an undisclosed sum of money from the register.
Following an investigation, authorities identified the perpetrator as 35-year-old Karon Earl Johnson of Temple. On Monday, December 18, officers executed a warrant service at the 3600 block of Profit Place, leading to Johnson's arrest. He was subsequently transported to the Bell County Jail to face charges related to the aggravated robbery.
