On the night of December 14, 2023, at 10:30 p.m., a vigilant citizen reported witnessing multiple individuals stealing from a vehicle in the 900 block of S. Weatherred Dr. Richardson Police officers swiftly responded to the call, prompting the suspects to flee into nearby businesses. With the assistance of additional officers, K9 Hondo, a drone team, and a Texas Department of Public Safety (TX DPS) helicopter, a coordinated effort unfolded.
Following several foot chases, law enforcement successfully apprehended five suspects. During the operation, officers discovered and seized a handgun and a quantity of marijuana. Notably, a window punch, indicative of the reported criminal activity, was found near the scene.
