The Dallas Police Department is reaching out to the public for assistance in locating Janet Childs, a 66-year-old woman who was last seen on December 9, 2023, at around 12:00pm. Ms. Childs was last observed in the 9000 block of Tampas Lane in the Riverway Estates/Bruton Terrace area.
Ms. Childs left the area on foot and may be in need of assistance. She is described as having brown hair and eyes, standing at 5’04” and weighing 125lbs. At the time of her disappearance, she was wearing green sweatpants, a white shirt, a beige jacket, and blue tennis shoes.
The Dallas Police Department is urging anyone with information regarding Janet Childs' whereabouts to contact them immediately at 911 or (214) 671-4268.
UPDATE: On December 10, 2023, Dallas police responded to a call for service in the 9200 block of Forney Road and found a woman dead at the location. The woman was identified as 66-year-old Janet Childs. This is being investigated as an unexplained death. This will be documented under case numbers 219355-2023.
