The Temple Police Department is actively investigating an aggravated assault and theft of a vehicle incident that occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning.
At approximately 5:02 a.m., officers responded to a shots fired call and burglary of a vehicle in the 2200 block of Carriage House Drive. Preliminary information indicates that the suspects not only stole a vehicle from the location but also fired shots at a witness present during the incident. Fortunately, the witness was unharmed.
Following the incident, officers were provided with a description of the stolen vehicle. They quickly located the vehicle, initiating a pursuit as it headed towards Belton. Multiple law enforcement agencies collaborated in the pursuit. The pursuit concluded when the stolen vehicle crashed in the 200 block of McDowell Street in Belton.
Upon crashing, five suspects emerged from the vehicle and fled on foot. The suspects were reportedly wearing gloves, masks, and hoodies.
