North Richland Hills Teen Shot By Frisco Homeowner in Burglary Attempt

In a Sunday evening incident, the Frisco Police Department responded to a burglary in progress that resulted in the arrest of an 18-year-old suspect.

On November 26, 2023, at around 8:06 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 10400-block of Belfort Drive following a report of suspicious activity. A resident informed dispatch that an unidentified individual had entered their backyard, pulled a ladder from the residence, and used it to break a window.

As officers approached the scene, they reported hearing gunshots. Upon securing the area, authorities discovered 18-year-old Clinton Montgomery of North Richland Hills inside the residence, suffering from a gunshot wound. Further investigation revealed that Montgomery was shot by the homeowner while attempting to gain entry.

Frisco Fire Department personnel transported Montgomery to a local hospital for treatment, where he remains in custody for Burglary of a Habitation. This offense is classified as a second-degree felony, carrying a potential punishment of two to twenty years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
