Collision Claims Life of Motorcycle Passenger in Three-Vehicle Crash at Killeen Intersection

On Friday, November 24, 2023, tragedy struck at the intersection of Watercrest Drive and Bachelor Button Blvd. in Killeen as three vehicles were involved in a fatal crash.

At approximately 4:15 p.m., Killeen Police responded to the scene. The preliminary investigation indicated that a silver 2022 Chevrolet pickup truck had come to a stop in the inside westbound lane of Watercrest Drive, waiting to make a southbound turn onto Bachelor Button Blvd. The situation took a dire turn when a white 2018 Chevrolet SUV, also traveling westbound in the inside lane, collided with the rear of the pickup truck, propelling it into the eastbound lane.

In the eastbound lane of Watercrest Drive, a red and black 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle, carrying two occupants, entered the intersection and collided with the pickup truck. The force of the impact ejected the motorcycle's passenger over the pickup truck and onto the roadway.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, and both drivers of the pickup truck and SUV were transported to Advent Hospital by Killeen Fire Department EMS. Fortunately, both were treated and released from medical care. However, the situation was more critical for the motorcyclist, who was airlifted to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in critical condition. As of now, the rider's condition remains unchanged.

The 34-year-old female passenger of the motorcycle, identified as Jessikah Richardson, was pronounced deceased at the scene at 6:20 p.m.
