Irving Animal Services Offers Free Adoptions to Vets and Active Military on Nov. 11

Pet adoptions to veterans and active-duty military members are free on Saturday, Nov. 11 - Veteran's Day at Irving Animal Services, 4140 Valley View Lane.

Adopters must submit proof of military service. Acceptable forms of proof include: DD214, DD256, NGB22 or a valid military ID.

DOGS AND CATS BEING ADOPTED WILL BE:

  • Up-to-date on vaccinations, including rabies if the animal is more than 4 months of age
  • Spayed or neutered
  • Given a general dewormer and treated for fleas and ticks
  • Microchipped and registered with 24PetWatch
  • Heartworm tested (dogs over 6 months of age)
  • FeLV / FIV tested (cats over 6 months of age)
  • Given a sample bag of Science Diet food

Adoptions must be processed 30 minutes prior to closing.
