Dallas Police are reaching out to the public for assistance in locating the suspect involved in a fatal shooting incident on Britton Avenue earlier this month.
On October 1, 2023, around 11:00 pm, Dallas Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 2700 block of Britton Avenue. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a man and woman had been shot outside a residence in the 3400 block of Britton Avenue. The victims fled the scene in a vehicle but collided with a parked car in the 2700 block of Britton Avenue, causing their vehicle to overturn.
Surveillance footage revealed a white SUV approaching the accident site. The suspect, identified as Omar Hernandez, 30, was seen exiting the passenger side of the SUV. Hernandez circled the victims' vehicle before opening fire multiple times, striking the female victim, Martha Perez Enriquez, 29, who was still inside the overturned car. Subsequently, Hernandez re-entered the passenger side of the white SUV and fled the scene.
Martha Perez Enriquez succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The male victim was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition, where he continues to receive medical treatment.
Dallas Police have released a photograph of the suspect, Omar Hernandez, and are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward. Authorities are asking the public to contact the Dallas Police Department or Crime Stoppers with any relevant information that could aid in Hernandez's apprehension.
