On Tuesday, October 10, at approximately 3:06 pm, emergency responders were dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on FM 1902 near the Chisholm Trail Parkway in North Johnson County.
According to preliminary investigations, an SUV carrying two juveniles was traveling northbound on FM 1902 when it attempted to overtake other vehicles in a no-passing zone. Tragically, the SUV collided head-on with a southbound SUV.
One of the juveniles inside the first SUV, identified as a 17-year-old from Joshua, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 17-year-old driver, also from Joshua, sustained injuries and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The driver of the second vehicle was also injured and was transported to a Fort Worth hospital for treatment.
The Department of Public Safety (DPS) is currently conducting an investigation into the crash.
