Irving Police arrested 26-year-old Dennis Santana Bernal, a resident of Irving, on the evening of October 10, 2023, following an attempted traffic stop. The incident occurred around 8:07 pm when Irving Police tried to stop Bernal's vehicle. Instead of complying, Bernal attempted to flee, leading to a brief pursuit.
After successfully apprehending Bernal, the police booked him into the Irving Jail. Bernal is facing charges including possession of a controlled substance (pg 1/1-b <1g), possession of marijuana (<2 oz), and evading arrest detention.
It was revealed that Bernal had multiple open warrants issued by the Irving Police Department, including charges related to failure to maintain financial responsibility (FMFR), drug possession, and other traffic violations. In addition to the Irving warrants, Bernal also had open warrants from the Dallas County Sheriff's Office for burglary and evading arrest. Furthermore, he faced open warrants for traffic violations from the Grand Prairie Police Department.
