In an incident on October 1, 2023, at approximately 11:00 PM, Dallas Police officers rushed to the 2700 block of Britton Ave in Cedar Crest in response to a shooting call.
According to the preliminary investigation, a suspect opened fire on a male and female victim outside a residence in the 3400 block of Britton Ave. The man was struck by the gunfire. The victims attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle but collided with a parked car in the 2700 block of Britton Ave.
The suspect continued the assault, shooting the woman while she was inside the car. Emergency services, including the Dallas Fire-Rescue (DFR), responded to the scene. Despite their efforts, the woman succumbed to her injuries. The male victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently in critical condition.
The female victim has been identified as 29-year-old Martha Perez Enriquez.
The suspect fled the scene following the shooting. The Dallas Police Department is actively investigating the incident to bring the perpetrator to justice.
