Irving Man Faces Multiple Felony Charges Following Domestic Violence Incident

On the night of September 27, 2023, Irving Police Officers responded to a domestic violence call. A 56-year-old individual, identified as Ronald Ray Thomas Jr, was subsequently arrested and charged with multiple offenses.

Mr. Thomas Jr. faces the following charges:

  1. Domestic Violence Assault - Impede Breath (Third-Degree Felony)
  2. Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Second-Degree Felony)
  3. Unlawful Restraint (Class A Misdemeanor)
  4. Assault with Intent to Recklessly Impede Breathing (Second-Degree Felony)

Ronald Ray Thomas Jr. is currently in custody at the Irving City Jail, and legal proceedings will follow to address the charges against him.

Second-degree (F2) felonies convictions in Texas can result in substantial prison sentences, typically ranging from 2 to 20 years. 

Convictions for F3 felonies can result in prison sentences ranging from 2 to 10 years.
