On Sunday, August 27, 2023, around 5:15 a.m., the Arlington Police Department responded to a hit and run crash in the 3600 block of S SH 360.
According to investigators, a 2012 Toyota Yaris was stalled in the southbound outside lane. A 2020 Chevrolet Silverado struck the Toyota, leading to the ejection of the Toyota's driver, a 33-year-old individual, who was later pronounced dead at the scene.
The Chevrolet driver left the scene of the crash without stopping. However, an off-duty police officer from another agency followed the Chevrolet. With the assistance of the Mansfield Police Department, the Chevrolet was stopped and the driver was contacted.
Subsequently, the Arlington PD arrested the Chevrolet's driver, who now faces charges of Intoxication Manslaughter and Failure to Stop and Render Aid.
