Two Dead in Wrong-Way Collision on Dallas North Tollway

The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is  investigating an accident that resulted in two fatalities on the Dallas North Tollway just north of downtown Dallas.

At 4:35 am on Saturday, DPS Troopers and Dallas Fire Rescue rushed to the scene of a two-vehicle collision on the southbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway near Wycliff Avenue.

According to officials, a 27-year-old Richardson man was driving his vehicle in the wrong direction, heading northbound in the southbound lanes of the tollway. His vehicle collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by a 55-year-old man from Houston. The impact of the collision was devastating. Both drivers were pronounced deceased at the scene.

In response to the accident, southbound lanes of the Dallas North Tollway were temporarily closed for several hours as DPS investigators examined the scene for clues and information related to the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
