19-Year-Old Arrested by Irving Police on Multiple Charges, Faces Immigration Hold

Irving Police took 19-year-old Gerardo Aguilar-Rodriguez into custody on August 23, 2023, on a series of charges including organized engagement, possession of controlled substances, evading arrest, and theft of property. Aguilar-Rodriguez, an undocumented Hispanic individual, also had an outstanding warrant issued by INS-Dallas/Ft Worth for an immigration ICE hold.

The arrest followed a series of events that unfolded in Wednesday afternoon. Upon being approached by the officers, Aguilar-Rodriguez attempted to flee the scene. Law enforcement officers managed to apprehend him after a short pursuit.

Subsequent searches led to the discovery of drugs in Aguilar-Rodriguez's possession, resulting in charges related to the possession of a controlled substance. Additionally, authorities uncovered stolen property valued between $750 and $2,000, leading to a theft charge against him.

Aguilar-Rodriguez's legal situation is further complicated by his immigration status. The INS-Dallas/Ft Worth had issued a warrant for his arrest, indicating an immigration ICE hold.
