Fort Worth, Texas - A shooting during what was supposed to be a routine sneaker sale sent one person to the hospital in north Fort Worth on Friday morning, October 30th. Fort Worth police officers and Tarrant County Sheriff's deputies responded to the intersection of Avondale Haslet Road and Sendera Ranch Boulevard just before 10 a.m. after reports of gunfire.
Investigators say the victim had arranged to meet someone to sell a pair of shoes when the deal apparently turned into a robbery attempt, resulting in the shooting. The area sits near the Sendera Ranch neighborhood in north Fort Worth, not far from Eagle Mountain Lake.
The injured party was taken to a nearby hospital; their condition has not yet been released. Authorities say a suspect was taken into custody at the scene, though officers continued searching for the firearm used in the shooting.
The department's Gun Violence detectives have been looped in on the case, which remains under investigation. No further details were immediately available.
