FORT WORTH, Texas - A 55-year-old man has been sentenced to 35 years in prison after a court revoked his probation in a Tarrant County family violence case, according to the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office.
Jason Barrett Page had previously pleaded guilty to assaulting a family member by impeding breathing or circulation. The charge was enhanced because Page had a prior conviction for an offense against a family member, prosecutors said.
Page was placed on probation following the guilty plea.
While serving that probation, prosecutors said Page sexually assaulted the victim in another violent incident. The District Attorney's Office subsequently asked the court to revoke his probation based on the new allegation.
After hearing evidence, the court found that Page had violated the conditions of his probation, revoked it and sentenced him to 35 years in prison.
The District Attorney's Office credited the Euless and Grapevine police departments for their work on the case.
The case was prosecuted by Libby Kinsey.
