Sanger, Texas - A school bus rollover in unincorporated Denton County has claimed the life of a 13-year-old student. Texas Department of Public Safety troopers were called to the scene on Huling Road near Lois Road East around 4:55 p.m. on September 24, 2026, after a Sanger Independent School District bus went off the road.
Investigators say the bus was headed north on Huling Road when it drifted off the pavement, hit a culvert and flipped over. The 38-year-old driver and three students suffered minor injuries and were treated at the crash site.
A 13-year-old student was rushed by ambulance to a nearby hospital but did not survive the injuries sustained in the wreck. DPS troopers continue to investigate what caused the bus to leave the roadway, and no further details have been released as the inquiry continues.
The crash occurred in a rural stretch of Denton County outside Sanger, north of the Dallas-Fort Worth core, underscoring ongoing concerns about school bus safety on area roadways.
