FORT WORTH, Texas - Fort Worth police are highlighting a July narcotics investigation that resulted in three arrests, a pursuit across multiple cities and the seizure of more than 5 kilograms of methamphetamine.
The Fort Worth Police Department released details of the July 7 operation this week as an example of collaboration among North Texas law enforcement agencies.
During the investigation, Fort Worth officers stopped two vehicles in the city. One driver complied, while the second fled, striking a police vehicle and narrowly missing an officer, according to FWPD.
The fleeing vehicle led officers on a pursuit from Fort Worth into Dallas.
Officers eventually deployed spike strips that disabled the vehicle. Two people inside were taken into custody without further incident.
A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of more than 5 kilograms, or approximately 11 pounds, of methamphetamine, police said.
Three people were ultimately arrested during the investigation and charged with manufacture or delivery of methamphetamine. FWPD did not identify the defendants in its release.
The Grand Prairie, Arlington and Dallas police departments assisted Fort Worth police during the pursuit and arrests.
